The Group Psychotherapy Seminars for 2011 have just been completed at Baylor College of Medicine for second and third year psychiatric residents. This group training has been ongoing for over twenty years.
The training includes twenty didactic seminars with an overview of group therapy process and leadership as well as guest lecturers who contribute information about special populations as well as special treatment focus. Additionally, a training group of nine weeks duration is conducted as part of the seminars.
All faculty are HGPS members. They include Robert E. White, MD, CGP, LFAGPA as Faculty Liaison with Baylor and Training Group Co-leader; Patricia Barth, PhD, CGP, LFAGPA and Carol A. Vaughan, LCSW, CGP, LFAGPA, Didactic Seminar Coordinators and presenters; and Elizabeth Knight, LCSW, CGP, LFAGPA, Training Group Co-Leader and Seminar presenter.
Guest presenters and consultants, also all HGPS members, include: Franklin Gittess, MD, CGP, FAGPA; Aaron Fink, MD, CGP, FAGPA; Travis Courville, LCSW, CGP, FAGPA; Josephine Tervalon, LCSW, CGP, LFAGPA; Naomi Rosborough, MA, LPC, LMFT, CGP.
